Dead cow spotted floating near Lanzarote coast

A dead cow was spotted floating near the Lanzarote coast last week.

Once alerted the Salvamento Marítimo quickly arrived to recover the cow’s body that was spotted four miles from Arrecife’s coast. “In addition to saving lives and protecting boats, we work to share #MaresLimpios (clean seas)”, the service pointed out on social media.

It isn’t the first time that a dead animal has been spotted near the Lanzarote coast, last year a cow appeared near Costa Teguise. More often than not they are thrown overboard by transport boats.

Guardia Civil are now making inquiries to determine the boat in question.
