A dead cow was been spotted near Playa de las Cucharas in Costa Teguise this Thursday, as reported by Ademal.
The cow had been spotted at approximately 11am yesterday morning, when someone walking near the beach spotted the dead animal. They recorded the incident and later sent it to the Ademal animal charity.
According to Ademal, local police arrived at the scene and have since removed the cow.
It is likely that the cow had died while being transported on a ship carrying livestock and was later thrown overboard.
This isn’t the first time that a dead cow has been found in Lanzarote’s waters – two months ago Salvamento Marítimo were called out to retrieve the body of a dead cow that was spotted four miles from Arrecife’s coast, and last year a dead cow was found washed up on the roads near the La Mareta Royal Residence in Costa Teguise.
