Lanzarote cruise tourism has finally returned to pre-pandemic levels, with 64,000 cruise tourists arriving in Arrecife in January.
The figure is virtually identical to the number that arrived in January 2019, the last “normal” year.
Lanzarote received over half a million cruise tourists in 2019 – a record. However, the cruise sector was badly hit by Covid restrictions and, although strict testing requirements on cruisers meant that the sector was among the first to re-establish operations on the island, it has not fully recovered until now.
