This week, the Mancha Blanca Crafts Fair hosted a presentation of all its historical websites about the island’s different municipalities. And it’s an interesting read.

At the start of this week, the Lanzarote Memorialists, Óscar Torres Perdomo and Jesús Perdomo Ramírez, presented all of the island’s online historical resources – which include links to various websites which have hundreds of posts about the history of various municipalities.
The event was attended by the Cabildo’s Culture Councillor, Alberto Aguiar, who highlighted the work carried out by the two, “who for more than two decades have focussed all their efforts to recover, preserve and make public the history of the island’s municipalities, thereby contributing to the conservation history.”.
Their work began in 2000, when Óscar Torres and Jesús Perdomo began to discover the orirgins of many of the island’s families. They did this until 2007, when they decided to collate all of the material they had and create a webpage that covers each of the island’s seven municipalities.
