A body has been discovered at the foot of the cliffs between Puerto Calero and Playa Quemada.
Emergency services arrived at the scene early yesterday afternoon and confirmed the death, after which Guardia Civil officers and a coroner carried out the required procedures. The body was then airlifted from the zone by a rescue helicopter.
The victim is a man aged around 50, of Uruguayan nationality and Canarian upbringing. Authorities are considering the possibility that he may have lived in one of the caves along this stretch of coast.
