A rainy night has caused flooding in parts of Lanzarote, and showers and flurries of hail are predicted to continue until this evening.
Lanzarote experienced heavy rainfall overnight, with the north of the island being the worst-affected areas. Haría has experienced flooding and Mayor Alfredo Villalba has announced “The access to Haría is flooded. I ask all motorists to take care as it is difficult to drive.”
A yellow alert – the lowest level of warning – will remain in place until midnight, with 100% probability of more rain in the afternoon. From 6pm onwards, no further rain is predicted.
The rain is the result of a DANA (High Level Isolated Depression) that has brought bad weather to all of the Canary Islands in recent days.
