The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has chosen to spend his Christmas holiday on Lanzarote.
Scholz landed at the airport yesterday on a German military plane from Berlin. It is thought he will stay in Playa Blanca with his family over Christmas.
Scholz is not the first European leader to choose Lanzarote for his holidays. In the past ten years alone, we have seen the arrival of two Spanish presidents, an Irish president, one British Prime Minister and the Prime Minister of Luxembourg.
