Canarian Government’s holiday rental law extended

The Canarian Government’s law on holiday rental properties has been delayed again as the notice period for objections was granted yet another extension. The new deadline is the 14^th May.

This time it was the Canarian Socialist party which requested the extension, following previous requests by La Gomera Socialist Group and the Nueva Canarias. The parties are transferring at least 1,000 objections by citizens, as well as another 5,000 that have been collected by the Canarian Holiday Rental Owners’ Association (ASCAV).

“It is a very complex law, and if the government has taken almost a year and a half to draft it, they can’t expect us to deal with it in a few days,” sources told Canarias7.
