A yellow warning has been issued for calima (airborne dust) conditions on Lanzarote by AEMET. The alert lasts from midday on Monday 19th August until midnight.
The calima will mostly affect those in high-lying areas, with visibility reduced to 3 kilometres.
Strong winds that could reach up to 60 kph are also predicted, with temperatures rising until 34 degrees Celsius.
The alert covers all of the Canaries, and the Canarian emergency directive has also warned that electrical storms and showers may occur.
Yellow alerts are the lowest of the warning levels, recommending that citizens remain informed.
