The Cabildo will invest 489,500 euros in new, energy efficient streetlights in Costa Teguise.
Cabildo President, Oswaldo Betancort, stated that this will be achieved “thanks to an investment that will reduce our carbon footprint, contributing to the goal of making Lanzarote a model of sustainable island, a line of work in which we will continue to influence through support for this type of municipal projects that contribute to having a more effective and efficient territory at the energy level”.
Cabildo Industry and Energy Councillor, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, added that “the aim of this initiative is to design a public lighting network in order to achieve optimum lighting and energy levels. From our area we are committed to continue seeking funding to further implement efficient technology to illuminate other sections of the avenue”.
Teguise Mayor, Olivia Duque, thanks the Cabildo and emphasised that “this project, without a doubt, reinforces our commitment to the environment and to improving the quality of life of the residents of our municipality”.
The project will have an execution period of six months.
