The Cabildo has announced a project to introduce an all-white colour scheme to Lanzarote’s industrial zones, as well as public buildings including the Cabildo building in Arrecife.

The Biocrit scheme will follow the example of Playa Honda’s industrial zone opposite the airport, which has replaced bright colours and logos with white facades and grey/black trimmings over recent years.

The scheme will apply to the Los Mármoles, Tenorio-Altavista and Argana industrial zones in Arrecife; Tahiche, Zonzamas and Costa Teguise in Teguise, and the Montaña Roja zone of Playa Blanca.

The Cabildo building itself, sometimes known as the “coffee cake” by locals because of its mocha colouring, will also be painted white.

The scheme will eventually bring an end to the jumble of vividly painted warehouses and facades that can be found in various industrial areas.
