The collapse of the support system for Bizum, a digital payment method that is extremely popular in Spain and the Canaries, caused chaos yesterday.
The breakdown of the Redsys system lasted between 20 minutes to an hour and is reported to have caused queues in supermarkets in the Canarian capitals of Las Palmas and Santa Cruz.
Redsys has now assured users that the problem has been fixed.
