A bather had to be rescued after getting into difficulties while swimming off Papagayo yesterday.
Emergency services received a call at 5.20pm, warning that three swimmers were having problems. However, when they arrived, the bathers were out of the water. One of them, a 32-year-old French, had been rescued by other beach users. He was wrapped in a thermal blanket and treated by paramedics.
