Arrecife’s April Fair attracts 15,000

Arrecife’s April Fair attracted 15,000 people over the weekend, filling the Parque de José Ramírez Cerda on the capital’s seafront.

The three-day event, based on Seville’s famous Feria de Abril, celebrated Andalusian culture with musical performances, flamenco dancing, catwalk fashion shows and equestrian displays

Arrecife Mayor Yonathan de León said “the impressive attendance of thousands of visitors reflects their support of the dynamism that we are carrying out to relaunch the capital,” and said that “investing in Arrecife reinforces local employment.”

His comments reflect criticism of the event from both the Socialist party, who claim that over half a million Euros was spent on the event, and Vox, who said that “two days of parties won’t address the everyday problems of people who live in Arrecife.”
