Arrecife will celebrate its most popular free music festival tonight and on the next three Fridays, as Arrecife En Vivo returns after three years of Covid-enforced absence.
The unique festival sees four bands performing at four separate venues along Arrecife’s seafront. After one band finishes, everyone follows “Elvis” and a gang of street musicians in a wild parade to the next venue.
Tonights events start at 6pm on the islote de Ferminaz, with a pèrformance by local musicina Toññoin Corujo’s project Cantera Rock. The parade will move to the Çparque Islas Canarias, where Spanish indie-rock band Venturi will perform at 7.30pm.
The powerful voice of Gran Canarian singer/rapper Mel Omana is next up, at 9pm in the Parque Ramírez Cerdá. The evening will end at the Lanzarote Marina at 10.30 pm, where veteran Spanish rappers SFDK will perform, followed by DJ CHK.
The street parade will be led by the exciting Basque drumming group Kolpez Blai.
