Arrecife closes its fair

Arrecife has closed the fairground that has been installed for the fiestas de San Ginés after detecting “safety deficiencies”.

The fair, located on the car parking area near the Charco de San Ginés, was supposed to hold an evening adapted for those on the autistic spectrum yesterday, but did not open after safety problems were detected. 

Fiestas Councillor Echedey Eugenio has demanded that the fairground operators remedy the problems as soon as possible. He said, “We regret the inconvenience caused, but safety is important.”

Eugenio said the council planned to extend the days of the fair even after the fiestas were over to compensate for the closure.
