Arrecife will host Armed Forces Day celebrations for the first time in its history this weekend, Saturday, June 15th.
The event presents patriotic islanders a tough choice between the celebrations and Spain’s first Euro 2024 match, which kicks off at 5pm local time.
Events will centre around the Parque de José Ramírez Cerdá on Arrecife’s seafront. The programme is as follows:
10am. Raising of the flag
10am – 5.30pm. Exhibition of military equipment.
10.05am – 5.30pm. F-18 fighter flight simulator.
12.10pm. Search And Rescue (SAR) helicopter demonstration.
12.30pm. Concert by the Canary Islands Air Command Band.
6:00pm. Lowering of the flag and tribute to the fallen.
The event will conclude with a military parade along Avenida La Marina, ending at the Arrecife Ayuntamiento.
