Spain’s meteorological agency, AEMET; has issued a yellow warning for high winds on Lanzarote.
The warning covers a period from 3 am this morning, (Sunday 14th) until 6 pm tomorrow (Monday 15th).
South and south-easterly winds are predicted to reach gusts of up to 70 kilometres per hour, mainly affecting higher-lying area in the west and north of the island.
Rain is also likely in the morning, with a 90%, probability falling to 25% in the afternoon.
A yellow warning is the lowest level of alert issued by authorities and recommends that citizens remain informed.
