The calima and minor heatwave that descended on the islands at the weekend is forecast to disappear by the end of today.
The return of alisio winds on Monday did nothing to clear the atmospheric dust that blurred the horizon and the outline of distant volcanoes. However, Spain’s meteorological agency, AEMET, has predicted that there will be no calima conditions tomorrow, and temperatures will fall by a degree or two.
Hopefully, this means a return to the calm, clear conditions that make October one of the most agreeable months on Lanzarote.
