The newest edition of the Malvasía Wine Week will kick off from the 7th of November and will run until the 13th. There’ll be plenty of activities to take part in, here’s what to expect:
For the eight consecutive year in a row, the Malvasía Wine Week (organised by D.O of Lanzarote Wines) will bring exciting events to the island.
The calendar of activities will begin on Tuesday, November 8th, with an art workshop at the Lanzarote Art Centre in San Bartolomé). Famous local artist, Rufina Santana, will offer a new masterclass workshop.
On Thursday, November 10th, one of the rooms at Bodegas El Grifo will be used as the setting for a creative writing workshop hosted by Lanzarote writer, Lana Corujo. Following on from the previous workshop “Once upon a vine”, the new workshop, “Once upon a vine… now it’s your turn”, will see attendees create stories instead of listening to them.
Starting the weekend with a band, on Saturday, November 12th, there will be a trail around Finca Testeina organised by Senderismo Lanzarote. At the end of the trail, attendees can enjoy traditional Canarian music and an enyesque (small food dish often served with a drink – in this case, wine.)
Finally, coinciding with the European Day of Wine Tourism, on November 13th, a cycling route will be held in the islands wine landscape, with Bodega La Geria marking the starting point. You will only have to bring your desire to cycle, as the company Papagayo Bike will provide all equipment needed.
At the end of the route, attendees will be able to enjoy a guided visit to Bodega La Geria, tasting its exquisite wines.
