86-year-old swimmer rescued in Playa Blanca

An 86-year-old swimmer was rescued yesterday in Playa Blanca.

The emergency services received a report of a swimmer in trouble in Playa Blanca at approximately 4:40pm yesterday afternoon.

Fortunately, staff at a nearby dive centre spotted the 86-year-old at sea and pulled them out of the water and prevented them from drowning.

An ambulance arrived shortly after, stabilised the 86-year-old and took them to the Dr Jose Molina Orosa hospital in Arrecife for further treatment.
