55-year-old man rescued at sea in Playa Blanca

A 55-year-old Swiss man was rescued in seas just off the coast of Los Charcones, in Playa Blanca, yesterday.

It appears that the man was bathing in the zone when a large wave swept him out into the open sea. Emergency services were alerted, but it was a passing fishing boat that got to the scene first and rescued the victim.

The fishermen transferred him to an Emerlan vessel which took him to Playa Blanca’s port and the health centre.

Meanwhile, local police located the man’s wife and transported her and her vehicle to Playa Blanca, where she was treated for an anxiety attack.
