13 young men have been expelled from the hostel in La Santa, and a further eight will be removed today, according to the Cabildo’s Social Affairs Councillor, Isabel Martín.
The decision was made after the confrontations that took place between young men at the migrant centre and local youths at the weekend. The expelled youths will be sent to specialised centres in Gran Canaria, and the ultimate aim is to return the hostel at La Santa to public use.
