The island has recorded 13 rubbish bin fires in 2024.
One of the largest fires of this year saw 10 rubbish bins burned at Charco del Palo, with two smaller fires in Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise bringing the total to 13 for 2024 so far.
Arrecife has yet to record any fires despite being the municipality with the highest number of incidents in recent months.
The fires come at a great cost with each rubbish bin costing approximately 1,200 euros to replace.
