The Cabildo have invested 1.5 million euros for eight new emergency vehicles to improve the security of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The Cabildo President, Oswaldo Betancort, stated “A year ago we set ourselves the goal of being a benchmark in security, and we are achieving it not only by expanding the fleet, but also by looking for land and executing works of checkpoints in different parts of the island as the one we are currently undertaking in the municipality of Tías.”.
President of Lanzarote’s Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, praised “the exquisite dedication of the staff of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote. Not only the magnificent work of the nearly 50 firefighters we have on staff, but the rest of the workers who make it possible for us to grow and increase our response capacity in terms of security.”.
