Haria installs amphibious wheelchairs for Playa de la Garita

Haría Ayuntamiento has installed two amphibious wheelchairs for use on Arrieta’s Playa de la Garita.

The wheelchairs, similar to those in use on other beaches in Lanzarote’s resorts, will allow bathers with limited mobility to enjoy the sea at the beach. The equipment will be operated by REN, the company ibn charge of lifesaving services on the beach.

Haría mayor Alfredo Villalba thanked the Canarian Government, who purchased the wheelchairs, and said “the co-operation between authorities has allowed us to advance in terms of disabled access and offer better assistance to people.”
