Island-hopping to and from Lanzarote shoots up

Inter-island Canarian flights to and from Lanzarote have soared by 27% over the last year.

764,000 passengers used inter-island flights in the first half of 2024, compared to just 600,000 over the same period last year.

The connection to Gran Canaria saw the biggest increase, with almost half a million passengers, 100,000 more than in 2023.

The La Palma route only carried 8,375 passengers, although this was the biggest increase in terms of percentage, at 66%.

Fuerteventura, however, saw a fall in passenger numbers. Only 348 passengers flew to the neighbouring island in the first half of this year.
