Dog found abandoned with no food or water in Tahíche

Last week, Teguise local police were alerted to a volunteer dog walker who had taken a dog for a walk and didn’t return it to the shelter, instead leaving the dog abandoned without water or food.

Last Wednesday, Teguise local police were called to an abandoned dog that had been tied up and left in a field without food or water by a volunteer dog walker.

According to the report, the animal was found in an open field in Tahíche tied to a truck bed, without food or water, and in peak daytime temperatures. The dog was being cared for at a local shelter and a volunteer had offered to walk the animal, however, they did not return with the dog.

Teguise local police rescued the animal and are now looking for the volunteer who allegedly abandoned the dog.

According to the Teguise councillor for animal welfare, the dog is an 8-year-old American Bully that had been taken to the shelter after its owner had died.
