The Three Kings visited every corner of Lanzarote yesterday, as Christmas reached its climax on the island.

Kings arrived by sea at Puerto del Carmen, Arrieta and La Graciosa; toured in cars around several villages and mounted their camels for parades later in the evening.

In Arrecife, the parade was headed by a Correos (Post Office) van, taking letters from local children. This was followed by floats featuring characters from Barbie, Frozen and the Little Mermaid, as well as a family of goofy dinosaurs from Hiperdino supermarkets.  On one stretch of the route, drums and music were silenced for the benefit of children with hypersensitivity.

Finally, the Kings arrived on their camels, each with another camel carrying plenty of gifts.

Today is the day when many children will open their long-awaited presents, and it is a public holiday in Spain.
