The Charco is currently being cleaned after recent rains caused issues with the sewage network and brought waste and debris into the water.
Work continues this week to clear the debris and waste that was washed into the Charco after the recent rains overloaded Arrecife’s sewage network
The Consorcio del Agua (that are responsible for the maintenance of the sewage network) have sent workers to clear disposable wipes and other items from the Charco.
Arrecife Ayuntamiento have reminded residents to be responsible with what they flush down the toilet stating that wipes and nappies should be disposed of in bins and not flushed down the toilet.
