An emergency helicopter has retrieved the body of a 30-year-old woman from the Famara cliffs.
The alarm was raised on Saturday morning, when the woman’s car was discovered near El Bosquecillo, one of the highest points on the island.
Guardia Civil, police, firemen and an emergency helicopter were sent to the area. The helicopter eventually located and recovered the lifeless body of the woman, who was a resident of Haría.
Spain offers a free 024 helpline for those in distress. Samaritans also operates an English-language freephone service in Spain on 900 525 100, from 10 am to 10 pm.
