The Spoon in Concrete, one of the strangest tourist attractions on Lanzarote, has been removed by unknown persons.
A normal teaspoon that had somehow become embedded in the surface of Playa Blanca’s promenade, the spoon had become a popular landmark for visitors, who would hunt for it and post photos of their feet next to the spoon on social media.
It became so popular that it became one of the most famous teaspoons in Europe, with it’s own Facebook page, a Tripadviser entry full of hilarious comments and a tag on Google Earth. However, spoon hunters were devastated yesterday to discover a spoon-shaped depression where the spoon used to be. It appears someone has prised the spoon away for unknown reasons.
This brings an end to a bit of daft fun that had entertained hundreds of holiday-makers for several years.
