Emergency services used ropes and a stretcher yesterday to rescue a 15-year old boy who had fallen 8 metres from a cliff between the Castillo de San Jose and the Playa de Arena in Arrecife.
The teenager was successfully rescued from the foot of the cliff, and taken to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital with a “moderate” head injury.
The Playa de Arena, just around the corner from Ikea, is popular with youngsters from the capital, many of whom climb or fish on the steep rocks in the area.
