A 53-year-old man has been arrested for attempted homicide after attacking a 60-year-old and pushing them down an elevator shaft.
On June 12th, the emergency services received an alert to an individual that had fallen down an elevator shaft in a building in Arrecife.
Upon arrival, the medical staff stabilised the 60-year-old man and transported him to the Dr Jose Molina Orosa Hospital. The man had suffered multiple fractures after the fall.
Police officers at the scene took statements from witnesses, all of which pointed to an argument between the 60-year-old and another man that had become heated.
According to statements taken, the 53-year-old attacked the victim and then pushed him down the elevator shaft.
The police arrested the 53-year-old for attempted homicide. He is now awaiting the following legal proceedings.
The victim, who had suffered multiple fractures, has since been released from hospital.
