A Guardia Civil union has called for a marine unit to be posted on Lanzarote.
The United Association of Guardia Civiles has said that “It’s not right that agents stationed in Corralejo in Fuerteventura have to cover the 600 miles of coastline on Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The union also criticised new working hours that it described as “abusive”, claiming that they had led to 50% of agents in the marine unit taking sick leave.
