The Lanzarote Cabildo have removed the remaining abandoned boats along the coasts of the municipalities of Teguise and Haría.
Cabildo President, María Dolores Corujo, stated that “we undertook this project because the local councils could not, and with the help of the Safety & Emergencies Consortium we have managed to solve a visual and environmental issue.”
The Emergency Consortium President, Marcos Bergaz, stated “a total of eight boats had been abandoned along different points of the coastline, all of which have been transported to the Zonzamas complex.”
“At present only one boat needs to be removed, which is in a difficult area to reach, so we will need the help of a helicopter to carry out the work”, he added.
