Victor Díaz, head of Lanzarote’s Wine Regulating Council, has warned that wine prices are likely to increase by around least two to three Euros.

This is not just the a result of the prices paid to grape suppliers. According to Díaz it is a result of price rises for “bottles, cardboard, transport, energy – everything has gone up, and bodegas have already had to lower their profit margins.”

Díaz also said that the heavy rains of September had been welcome, but that Lanzarote would require more rain early in 2023 to avoid the need for irrigation.
