Lanzarote is on a yellow wind alert this afternoon with gusts of up to 70 kph possible. Yellow is the lowest level of alert, reminding citizens to stay informed and reconsider certain activities.
The alert has been issued for the hours from midday until 6 pm in the evening, and weather agency AEMET says that “very strong gusts from the north will affect the southeast of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura”.
The island has also been on a pre-alert for high winds since 6pm yesterday, meaning that the Canarian Emergencies department has instructed emergency services to be prepared for possible
Weather will otherwise be warm, dry and clear, although not as hot as it was during the weekend’s calima.
