Rain is forecast throughout the Canaries this weekend, as meteorologists continue to monitor a tropical cyclone off the African coast to the south of the islands.
Spain’s meteorological agency AEMET currently predicts a cloudy weekend, with a 100% chance of rainfall on Saturday evening and all of Sunday.
There is “very little chance” the islands will be directly hit by the storm and the western Canaries will be worst affected by the heavy rainfall.
As usual, the western Canaries will receive the worst of the weather first, but generalised rianfall – as opposed to thew highly lovcalised showers of last weekend – is expected to spread to Lanzarote, with Sunday being the worst-affected day.
Nevertheless, temperatures will remain warn and the current calm, still weather is not predicted to change.
