The weather forecast suggests that next week’s carnival parades could be a little wet, as well as cool.

Spain’s weather agency, AEMET; predicts a 95% chance of rain for tomorrow afternoon. This probability falls to 20% after 6pm, when the main parade in Arrecife commences.

Although forecasts beyond a couple of days are notoriously unreliable in the Canaries, AEMET also predicts a 95% chance of rain on Wednesday, when Arrecife cremates its gigantic sardine; and a 100% chance of rainfall next Saturday, when Puerto del Carmen’s parade takes place.

Temperatures will also remain cool (although normal for this time of year) with minimums of 12 degrees Celsius and maximums of 20 degrees.
