Unions have suspended the planned bus strikes on the 6th, 7th and 8th of October “as long as negotiations proceed at a reasonable pace.”
Partial stoppages have been taking place on all three islands of Las Palmas province (Gran Canarian. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura) as bus drivers demand standardised pay packages, but complete stoppages had been planned for the three days in October.
However, after a meeting yesterday between representatives of the CCOO union and the FET (Federation of Transport Employers), during which proposals were exchanged and a timetable for negotiations suggested, the stoppages were suspended.
