UD Lanzarote are one position and five points adrift of a playoff finish in the RFEF 3 (fifth tier). With only four matches remaining, however, there is still hope.
The Rojillos (The Reds) have had a poor second half of the season, slipping from third position to just outside the playoff positions in sixth. They have three home matches remaining, with just one away game, which happens to be against the team in the final playoff spot – CD Mensajero.
Mensajero still have to play second-placed side UD San Fernando who are chasing the top spot – the only guaranteed promotion place. If Lanzarote were to finish level on points with their rivals then they would claim that fifth-place finish not because of goal difference, but because of how the two teams fared against each other. Earlier in the season Lanzarote beat them 2-0.
Lanzarote have been playing at their temporary home in Tías this season whilst maintenance has taken place on their home ground Ciudad Deportiva in Arrecife. The Cabildo (local government) has still not confirmed a return date so if you wish to see the final match of the season on the 11th May or possible play-of matches please check the venue and kick off time (details below).
