Arrecife local police have denounced the owner of two dogs housed in a small cage without water and surrounded by rubbish on an abandoned plot in Arrecife.

On April 30th, Sara Protectora alerted the local police to two dogs that were living in a tiny cage on a walled abandoned plot in Arrecife.

Upon arrival, agents found the plot covered in rubbish with a small caravan and the cage containing the two dogs next to it. The two dogs were found in terrible condition and without water.

The owner, who stated that they were unable to care for them, agreed to hand over the dogs to Arrecife’s animal protection centre. Both were evaluated by veterinarians and will soon undergo any necessary treatments needed to bring them back to full strength.

According to the police, “this case is a clear example of animal mistreatment, so proceedings were initiated for this alleged crime”. “This sad episode reminds us of the importance of denouncing any form of animal abuse and working together to create an environment where all living beings are treated with the respect and attention they deserve.”.
