The Guardia Civil arrested the perpetrators of a jewellery shop robbery in Puerto del Carmen last Friday.
Tias local police were alerted to the robbery last week and, after verifying that the entrance to the jewellery shop had been forced open and items had been stolen, they contacted the Guardia Civil to coordinate a rapid search.
According to the police report, after committing the robbery, the pair split up and fled on foot before hiding after noticing police agents were behind them.
In a coordinated search with help from additional agents from Yaiza and San Bartolomé, they found and arrested the two perpetrators who were found to be hiding inside of a hotel complex in Puerto del Carmen.
The total value of the recovered items is approximately 500 euros.
