Trapped podenco rescued

Emergency services rescued a dog that was trapped in a chasm on the Montaña Ubigue, the volcano between Tahiche and Nazaret, on Thursday.

The incident was reported at 9.40 in the evening when locals heard the dog’s howls of distress. Local police agents and residents searched the zone and the dog was finally located and removed by firefighters, apparently uninjured.

The podenco, which was unchipped, has been taken to an animal shelter.
