Firemen yesterday rescued two tourists who had got lost in the Malpaís de la Corona.
The emergency services received a call at 4.40pm from two people who asked to be rescued “as soon as possible” after losing their way in the volcanic wasteland around the Volcan de la Corona in the northern part of Lanzarote.
After a search lasting some hours, the two were located, with one woman suffering from dehydration and anxiety. Both tourists were accompanied to a safe place by firemen and treated by health workers.
