Two Italian tourists have been filmed entering the restricted part of the Green Lake in El Golfo.

The two tourists were filmed by onlookers as they ignored the warning signs at the viewpoint overlooking the Green Lake. The pair began to walk down the side of the red picon and onto the black beach itself.

THE SECOND INCIDENT IN A WEEK

This is the second time this week that tourists have ignored warning signs for protected areas on Lanzarote.

This week, a video of two tourists climbing one of the protected volcanic cones at Timanfaya were uploaded to social media and caused outrage online.

It appears that the two tourists left the vehicle on the approach to the the Montañas de Fuego tourists centre, to clamber up a volcano. As they climb, they can be seen picking up lava.

It is not known whether they tourists were approached or identified by staff at the park.

However, it’s the latest in a series of incidents in which tourists have been accused of ignoring rules, often for the sake of a selfie.
