Tías Ayuntamiento has prohibited quad bikes from using several footpaths in the municipality.
13 signs were erected yesterday banning use of the paths by quads and “other four-wheeled all-terrain vehicles.”
The paths that have been closed to quads are the Barranco Negro, the Vereda de Conil, the El Puerto, the Tías-Puerto del Carmen road, the Tres Peñas path, the Mojón Salado, Las Quinzuelas, Los Pocillos and Peña del Asiento.
Tías claims it has taken the decision in order to protect the paths from deterioration caused by quads, as well as for “environmental, aesthetic and cultural” reasons.
