Tías is set to celebrate its patron saints, Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria and San Blas, with a vibrant festival programme featuring more than 50 events from 23rd January to 3rd February 2026.
This year’s festivities will mark the 230th anniversary of the Iglesia de La Candelaria.
The celebrations will officially commence on Friday, 23rd January with an opening speech by Emilio Fernández Batista. The inaugural event will also feature performances by Domingo Rodríguez “El Colorao” and Fabiola Socas, setting the tone for a fortnight of events that expertly blends deep-rooted tradition with contemporary entertainment for all ages.
The packed schedule promises something for everyone, encompassing folk gatherings, concerts, children’s activities, sports tournaments, parades, theatre, dance, and more. Notable highlights include the 17th Tenderete Canario Candelaria, the Noche de Parrandas, a popular race, a traditional fried food event, a concert by the Navarran group Puro Relajo, and the 22nd Encuentro de Timples la Candelaria y San Blas.
Tías Mayor, José Juan Cruz, stated that these festivities “represent the identity and living history of our town, while reflecting the collective effort of associations, groups, the parish, municipal staff, and, most especially, the festival committee, whom I thank for their dedication and commitment.”
