The municipalities of Tías and Puerto del Carmen were filled with wonder and excitement this Monday as the Three Kings arrived to deliver their festive magic.

Tias Ayuntamiento has extended its heartfelt thanks to the entire community for making the dual parades an overwhelming success, with streets across the municipality brimming with emotion and family joy.

Mayor José Juan Cruz, alongside Deputy Mayor Nicolás Saavedra and Councillor for Festivals Miriam Hernández, offered special recognition to the immense effort behind the events. They praised the staff of all municipal departments, alongside the many artists, performance groups, batucada bands, and participating organisations that brought the parades to life.

Tias Ayuntamiento paid particular tribute to Diego Cañada and Cesario Rodríguez, acknowledging their remarkable four decade long commitment to spreading excitement throughout the municipality during the festive season.

Authorities also expressed their gratitude for the essential coordination and professionalism shown by the Tías Local Police, Tías Civil Protection, Boluntis volunteers, local health services, and the street cleaning teams from Grupo FCC. Their work was vital in ensuring the smooth running and safety of all attendees.

The day’s celebrations began in Puerto del Carmen, where Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar made their traditional maritime arrival at the Varadero pier. They were greeted by a huge crowd of families, both residents and visitors, eager to catch a first glimpse. From the harbour, a vibrant royal procession wound through the local streets accompanied by lively music, culminating in the heartfelt collection of children’s letters in the main square. The festive atmosphere was reported to be warmer than ever, with attendance surpassing last year’s figures.

The festivities continued in the afternoon in Tías, where despite some rain, spirits remained undampened. The parade processed along Avenida Central Alcalde Florencio Suárez and Calle Libertad, arriving at the traditional letter collection point at the Francisco Bermúdez Hernández “Pancho” football field. The parade dazzled onlookers with a host of fantasy and magical characters drawn from beloved traditional stories and films, delighting audiences of all ages.

The events collectively underscored the vibrant community spirit of Tías and Puerto del Carmen, marking another unforgettable chapter in the island’s festive traditions.
